		<description>Hi tolitz,

I think Dr. Wallach's second advice should be taken with a grain of salt. Meaning, don't take the doctor's prognosis without question -- always be critical, because they have made and will make mistakes (serious and fatal ones, as pointed out by the evidence in the above article.) And don't fall into their recommended surgery too, because many of them are really too anxious to put you under the knife. Also, critically examine their prescribed drugs because these drugs could be fatal as shown again, by the above article.

But, during emergencies like accidents you need to see a doctor to check your injuries. And surgery could only be the only option, sometimes. And you need to have medical check ups -- your cholesterol, your blood pressure, your bone density, etc. It's like maintaining your car, you need to check the oil, tire pressure, body rusts, brake fluid, etc.

So you really need to see your doctor for these. What Dr. Wallach really means when he says don't go to a doctor is -- don't believe everything the doctor says and be critical to his conclusions on your health and to his prescriptions, especially pharmaceutical drugs.

The first advice is very important too. Don't do anything foolish like excessive drinking and smoking and eating unhealthy and junk food, not having enough sleep.

So there. Now my conscience is clear. I hope I have dispelled the wrong impressions of Dr. Wallach's second advice.

Your utol,

		<description>tol,

Yes I remember your Bertrand Russell book I used to read in your bed while you were out, we're room mates remember? But I prefer your other book by Friedrich Nietzche but I could not finish because I wasn't much into philosophy then (too young). Oh yes I remember you Charles Darwin book too about evolution. Congrats for the nice &#38; interesting blogs, now I understand more about you. Keep it up 'tol.

		<description>Hi utol,

I have been following your 2nd advice, I've never been to my doctor and no prescription medicine in the last 20 years. Longevity of life is hopefully in our genes so we'll see.

<description>it amazes me that blogs are not yet entirely mainstream among toronto writers and journalists - that they have to resort to emailing their comments rather than posting it in the blog themselves.

without having blog comments posted by the visitors themselves, seems to defeat the concept of blogging in general.

but, that's just me. the blog owner has full discretion on how he or she wants visitor comments to appear in their blog.

in addition, here's another inspirational keynote address by another successful college dropout you failed to mention in your speech:

		<description>Hermie's note:
Here's an emailed comment from Jason Bagni, radio host of Boses Pinoy, Rogers Channel 951, (or www.1610am.com). Posted with permission:

Hi Kuya Hermie,

I read the whole thing from your blog. It is an inspiring and challenging piece. May I have your permission to quote some parts of it on our radio show this coming Wednesday?

<description>Hermie's note: Here's another comment emailed to me, from Faye Arellano, writer/journalist from Toronto. This made my day:

Congratulations and thanks for sharing, Hermie. I especially like the part:

Some of the individuals and institutions you will encounter will not be fair to you and will treat you unjustly. Some of them you will see blatantly victimize others. You should have the courage to fight them for the benefit of those whose rights are trampled upon. You should always be on the side of those who are victimized and oppressed.

Sooo true and it takes a leader to take on the enormous challenge. I'm glad that we have people like yourself and Mila to champion the
cause on behalf of the marginalized in our community. Cheers! Faye</description>

<description>Hermie's note: Here is a comment from Nestor Arellano, a journalist in Toronto, Canada, which he emailed to me. He gave permission to have this posted in this blog:

Hi Hermie,

This is wonderful.

I have often wondered when can graduating youths get to hear a commencement speech that has some relevance to the things that are actually happening around them and events that have a direct impact on their lives.

Kudos to you for having the guts to speak out.
